The core points of daily maintenance of dredging pumps
1. Check the operating status and abnormal signals
Vibration and Noise: Continuously monitor the pump body for unusual vibrations or noises, which can be early signs of worn impellers, damaged bearings, or internal blockages.
Temperature Monitoring: Regularly check the temperature of bearings, motors, and seals to ensure they are within the normal range and prevent component damage due to overheating.
Seal leakage: Focus on checking whether there is any liquid leakage at the shaft seal (such as packing seal or mechanical seal). The dredging medium has a high sand content, which wears out the seal greatly, and the seal needs to be adjusted or replaced in time if leakage is found.
2. Lubrication management
Regular refueling/oil change: Strictly follow the cycle and grease model specified in the equipment manual to add or replace lubricating oil/grease for lubrication points such as bearings. Make sure the oil level is between 1/2 and 2/3 of the window
Oil quality inspection: Regularly observe the color and cleanliness of the lubricating oil, and replace it immediately if it is found to be cloudy, impurities or emulsification.
3. Cleaning and blocking
Clean the inlet filter/grille: This is a top priority for dredging pump maintenance. The filter screen or sewage barrier at the pump inlet must be frequently inspected and cleaned to prevent sediment, aquatic plants, garbage and other debris from clogging, affecting the flow rate and even causing damage to the pump idling.
External cleaning: Keep the pump body and surrounding environment clean, remove adhered mud and dirt in time to prevent corrosion.
4. Inspection and maintenance of critical components
Impeller and wear parts inspection: Regularly check the wear of key overflow components such as impellers, volutes, and wear plates (such as per shift or a certain number of hours per operation). The dredging medium is highly abrasive, and these components are wearing parts, which need to be replaced in time to ensure efficiency when the wear is serious.
Fastener Inspection: Regularly inspect and tighten all connecting components, such as anchor bolts and coupling bolts, to prevent loosening due to vibration.
