Stationary Seals: Unlike piston pumps, the high-pressure seal is stationary, allowing the plunger to move through it, which enables higher operating pressures.
Reciprocating Motion: Operates by a plunger moving back and forth in a linear motion, forcing fluid out through a check valve on the forward stroke and drawing it in on the backward stroke.
Durability and Materials: Plungers are often made of ceramic, while the head is typically brass or stainless steel, allowing for excellent resistance to corrosion and wear.
Triplex Plunger Pump (3-Plunger): The most common industrial design, using three plungers to provide high efficiency, high pressure, and lower pulsation compared to single-plunger designs.
Single-Acting Plunger Pump: Displaces fluid only in one direction (forward stroke), often used for high-pressure, lower-flow applications.
