Slurry pumps are widely used in industries with 'harsh environments and abrasive media.' According to statistics, about 80% of slurry pumps are used in mining processing plants.
Mining Industry (Primary Battlefield)
This is the field where slurry pumps are most extensively applied. In the ore beneficiation process, a slurry pump is needed at every stage from ore crushing to the production of concentrates.
Ball Mill Discharge: Transports the ground slurry to the classifier. The particles are large and the concentration is high, making this stage highly abrasive.
Cyclone Feed: Provides stable pressure to deliver slurry into the hydrocyclone for classification.
Flotation Feed/Concentrate Transport: Transfers slurry between flotation cells.
Tailings Transport: Delivers the residual waste (tailings) from mineral processing to the tailings storage facility, usually over long distances and at high lift.
