The pump shaft is perpendicular to the horizontal plane, with the motor and bearing assembly located above the liquid surface. The impeller is suspended and immersed in the pool medium through an extended shaft; the submersible part has no bearings or mechanical seals, relying solely on sliding bearings (rubber sleeves or copper sleeves) for guidance and lubrication by the medium itself. This structure offers three major advantages: ① Zero shaft seal leakage - fundamentally eliminating the most common failure point of slurry pumps; ② Zero shaft seal water consumption - no need for external flushing water, saving operating costs; ③ No need to fill water for startup - the impeller is immersed in the medium, eliminating the problem of air binding. Structural Characteristics

Cantilever long shaft structure: The pump shaft is divided into the upper shaft (motor end) and the lower shaft (liquid impeller end), which are connected by a variable center coupling in the middle; the longer the liquid immersion depth, the more shaft segments there are.
No shaft seal design: The submerged immersion section has no mechanical seal, no packing, and no submerged bearings. This completely eliminates the problems of shaft seal leakage and water ingress in the bearings, making it the biggest maintenance advantage of vertical submersible pumps compared to submersible slurry pumps.
Stirring impeller (optional): An impeller is added below the main impeller at the bottom of the pump body to stir up the hard mud at the bottom of the pool and discharge it along with the flow, preventing sedimentation.
Bearings assembly: Heavy-duty rolling bearings + robust bearing seat + large-diameter shaft, lubricated with grease, and easy to maintain.
Outlet direction: The outlet flange can be rotated at eight different angles by 45° intervals according to the requirements of the on-site pipeline layout.

Selection of liquid depth: The pump body's suction hole should be 200–300 mm lower than the lowest liquid level in the pool; when the liquid depth is > 1.8 m, it is recommended to install an intermediate guide bearing (rubber sleeve) to stabilize the shaft system; when > 3 m, it is recommended to reduce the rotational speed to 500–700 rpm to reduce shaft deflection.
Comparison with submersible slurry pumps: If the pool depth is 1–3 m and the medium is not too thick → Submersible slurry pump (ZJQ) is more economical; if the pool depth is 1.5–3.5 m and frequent maintenance is required, and the medium temperature is high → 6-inch Heavy Duty Vertical Slurry Pump is more suitable (the motor is above the liquid surface, and maintenance does not require lifting the entire machine).
