Centrifugal mixed-flow pump head "Pump head" refers to the bare shaft assembly without the motor, diesel engine, base, coupling, including the pump body, pump cover, impeller, pump shaft, bearing housing, shaft seal and other core flow-through and rotating components. Users can purchase the pump head separately and then independently equip the power machine (directly connected motor, diesel engine belt, tractor PTO are all acceptable), and install the base. They can flexibly assemble a pump unit or replace the old pump head.

Centrifugal + mixed-flow composite characteristics, wide adaptability to operating conditions: The simple centrifugal pump is popular for small flow and high head applications, the simple axial flow pump is popular for large flow and low head applications. The centrifugal mixed-flow pump precisely fills the gap in the middle - a single 500HW pump head has a flow range of 2700 to 3600 m³/h and a head of 5 to 22 m. It can handle water lifting, drainage, circulating water, and aquaculture water replacement in irrigation areas, with an efficiency range 30% wider than that of centrifugal pumps.
Open shaft assembly, flexible power selection: Buying only the pump head without the power means users can choose an electric motor based on on-site conditions (fixed pump house), a diesel engine (without power/for emergency), or a tractor PTO (rural mobile) - the same 350 pump head, paired with a 55 kW motor is a fixed irrigation station pump, paired with a 95 horsepower diesel engine is a mobile flood control vehicle, and it consumes more in one go.
Front and rear opening cantilever, no need to dismantle pipelines for maintenance: Opening the pump cover allows the rotor to be withdrawn, the inlet and outlet flanges and the power end remain stationary. When replacing the old pump head, it can be installed in place, without moving the pipelines or the motor, minimizing downtime to the shortest - this is particularly crucial for maintenance of "impossible to stop" pumping stations.
Dual suction/single suction selectable, low cavitation margin: Small diameters (≤ 350) are mostly single suction, large diameters (400 to 800) can be dual suction, with NPSHr approximately 4.5 to 6.5 m. When taking water from rivers, reservoirs, or canals, the water level fluctuation is large and cavitation is not easy to occur.

Work mode

 

The pump head itself has no power. Users need to provide their own motor/diesel engine and drive the pump shaft through a coupling or pulley. During installation, ensure that the pump head is aligned with the power machine (the deviation of the coupling should be ≤ 0.05 mm). For belt drive, ensure that the pulleys are on the same plane and the speed ratio is calculated correctly (for the rated rotational speed of the pump of 730/980/1480, the pulleys for 650HW-5/-7/-10 should be calculated based on the power rotational speed). Before starting, close the water outlet valve, fill the water supply, and drain the air. Perform a test run by moving the pump (if facing the inlet, it is generally counterclockwise; for 650HW-5/-7/-10, it is clockwise; marked on the nameplate). After starting, slowly open the water outlet valve. During operation, check the bearing temperature (≤ 75 ℃), vibration (≤ 2.8 mm/s), and shaft seal leakage. To stop the machine, first close the water outlet valve to prevent water hammer, and for long-term shutdown, drain the water in the pump volume.
