Industrial double-suction centrifugal pump is a type of centrifugal pump where water enters from both sides of the impeller simultaneously. The water flows symmetrically from both sides of the shaft into the impeller and then converges to the same outlet through the volute. This structure fundamentally eliminates the axial thrust generated by the single-suction impeller, thus reducing the bearing load, ensuring smoother operation and longer service life. The pump body adopts a horizontal split type (also known as a split pump), with the upper and lower shells connected by bolts. During maintenance, only the pump cover needs to be lifted, and the rotor components (impeller, shaft, bearing, seal) can be fully exposed without the need to dismantle the inlet and outlet pipes, significantly reducing the downtime for maintenance. This pump type generally has higher efficiency than single-suction centrifugal pumps with the same parameters, making it the preferred choice for large flow and medium-low head conditions.

Double suction impeller: Two suction inlets are symmetrically arranged, with axial force self-balancing, and the bearings only bear radial loads. The material of the impeller can be selected as HT250 cast iron, QT500 ductile iron, ZG230-450 cast steel, SS304/SS316 stainless steel, or duplex stainless steel (CD4MCu).
Horizontal split center pump casing: The casing is horizontally divided along the axis, with the inlet and outlet flanges on the lower half of the casing. During maintenance, there is no need to dismantle the pipes. The pressure rating of the pump casing can be selected as PN10/PN16/PN25/PN40.
Shaft and bearings: A short and thick rigid shaft, with rolling bearings at both ends (lubricated with grease) or sliding bearings (lubricated with thin oil), and the bearing body has a cooling water jacket (for high-temperature conditions).
Sealing type: Packing seal (standard configuration, with packing ring flushing) or mechanical seal (single end face / double end face, with flushing and cooling pipeline).
Coupling: Elastic pin coupling or diaphragm coupling, which transmits torque smoothly and compensates for minor alignment deviations.

Material Selection: For clear water, use cast iron + stainless steel shaft; for water containing chlorides or seawater, use duplex stainless steel (2205/2507); for high-temperature media, use cast steel + heat-resistant bearings.
Sealing Selection: Packing seal is low-cost and simple to maintain, suitable for good water quality conditions; mechanical seal has low leakage and long lifespan, suitable for valuable media or environmentally friendly requirements.
Drive Method: Standard is direct connection with an electric motor, optional diesel engine drive, steam turbine drive, variable frequency speed regulation.
