Description

The YW type cast iron submersible pump is a vertical long shaft submersible sewage pump: a three-phase motor is installed above the pump (dry zone), and it works by rotating the pump head immersed below the liquid surface through the long shaft; the pump head usually adopts a semi-open/detailed channel impeller, and the submersible section does not have mechanical seals or submersible bearings, and the shaft surface is protected by a guard/liner. It is specifically designed for sewage/wastewater containing a small amount of solid particles and short fibers in sump pits, basements, sewage wells, regulating ponds, and rainwater pits. The common pump body material is cast iron, taking into account cost, rigidity, and maintainability.

The long-axis structure design of the motor is placed on top while the pump body is at the bottom. There is no need to pump water for priming, and the self-priming ability is strong.
The non-clogging impeller with a large flow channel design has strong flow-through performance and is not prone to entanglement or clogging.
The fully stainless steel material is corrosion-resistant and resistant to acids and alkalis, suitable for complex media such as chemicals and sewage.
It is convenient for installation and maintenance. Working underwater, there is no need to build a pump room, saving construction costs.

The dry zone of the motor is on top: The motor does not get wet, reducing electrical risks; it can be equipped with a rainproof cover or an EX explosion-proof motor solution as needed.
No shaft seal in the liquid area: This reduces the most prone-to-failure "sealing in water" step, making it more suitable for dirty liquids.
Cast iron pump body/impeller: HT/QT grade cast iron is mature and reliable, with low cost; the flow components can be upgraded to stainless steel variants according to the working conditions.
Large channel impeller: Prioritize flow passage (commonly capable of passing solids of φ50–100mm, depending on the diameter and flow channel), with relatively low risk of fiber entrapment.
Installation disc (seat disc) fixed: The outlet pipe should be independently supported (do not place the pipe weight on the pump flange); is folded out above the pump body to lead to the ground valve group.

Application fields

 

Building and basement sump drainage: For residential, office buildings, and shopping malls, the underground sumps collect domestic sewage (from bathrooms and greywater) containing a small amount of solid particles and fibers. They are usually combined with grates or coarse filters.
Municipal rainwater pumping stations and underground garage water pits: Regular or continuous drainage of rainwater pits, underground garage drainage ditches, and water pits in sunken squares. The water levels fluctuate greatly, and the pumps must be able to submerge for startup and not be afraid of short-term dry running.
Industrial wastewater regulating tanks and return water pits: Regulating tanks and return water pits for wastewater from industries such as food processing, light chemical production, and slaughter. The medium contains a small amount of suspended solids and organic matter, and is not highly concentrated in terms of acidity, alkalinity, or strong abrasiveness.
Auxiliary/Replacement for sewage treatment station inlet pump rooms: In the renovation of old pump rooms or new construction projects, it is desired to keep the motors in the dry area (to avoid the entire machine getting wet), reduce the frequency of well maintenance, and the YW type can be used as a substitute or supplementary solution for submersible sewage pumps (WQ).
