The medium-high flow mixed-flow pump is a type of oblique-flow pump that lies between a centrifugal pump and an axial-flow pump. The blades of its impeller are inclined. When water enters the impeller, it is simultaneously subjected to centrifugal force and axial lift, and then flows out obliquely. This structure enables it to have the medium head capacity of a centrifugal pump and the large flow characteristic of an axial-flow pump - the single-unit flow can reach 200–3000 m³/h, with a head of 3–25 m, precisely covering the gap where centrifugal pumps struggle and axial-flow pumps are too high for "flow being too large and head being too low". According to its structure, it can be classified as a volute type (HW type, single-stage single-suction, similar to an enlarged centrifugal pump) and a guide vane type (HL type, single-stage single-suction or double-suction, with a guide vane body, having higher efficiency). According to its installation form, it can be classified as horizontal, vertical and inclined, and can flexibly adapt to the space of the pump room.

Oblique impeller: The outlet angle of the blades is 20° - 45°, which lies between the centrifugal pump (radial) and the axial-flow pump (axial). The flow channel is spacious and less prone to clogging. The impeller material is standard HT250, and it can also be selected as QT500, ZG cast steel, or SS304/SS316.
Pump body form: Conical (HW) - simple structure, easy maintenance, low cost, suitable for small and medium flow; Guide vane type (HL) - with guide vane body to recover kinetic energy, high efficiency of 3 - 5%, suitable for medium and large pumping stations.
Shaft and bearings: Horizontal type has rolling bearings at both ends (grease or thin oil lubrication); Vertical type uses a combination of thrust bearings and guide bearings to withstand axial water thrust and rotor weight.
Sealing type: Packing seal (standard, with water seal ring flushing) or mechanical seal (for clean water/wastewater); For vertical type, the shaft seal is above the water surface, reducing the risk of leakage.
Installation form: Horizontal (simple foundation, convenient maintenance), vertical (small footprint, requires the pump room floor to sink), inclined (installed on a slope, short inlet and outlet flow channels, less civil engineering work).
Drive method: Direct connection (motor + coupling), belt drive (small power adjustable speed), diesel engine drive (for flood emergency).
