Description

The rubber-lined accessories for slurry pumps refer to the key flow components that are installed on the inner surface of the metal base of the pump (such as the pump casing and impeller), and are bonded with a layer of wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant elastic rubber through a special process. This design ingeniously combines the structural strength of metal with the excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance of rubber, making it an ideal solution for transporting highly corrosive, medium to low hardness abrasive slurries.

Product structure

The rubber lining technology is mainly applied to all the flow components that directly come into contact with the slurry in the slurry pumps, forming a complete rubber inner lining protection system. It mainly includes:
1. Rubber-lined pump casing/cover: The inner wall of the pump's volute or cover is fully lined with rubber, which is the main component that withstands the slurry's erosion and converts energy.
2. Rubber-lined impeller: The impeller blades and the flow passage surface are covered with rubber, which is the core rotating component of the pump.
3. Rubber-lined front/back guard plates (or front/back covers): Located at the pump's inlet and backside, they cooperate with the impeller to form the flow passage and protect the pump body.
4. Rubber-lined inlet/outlet pipes: The inner walls of the pipes connected to the pump can also be lined with rubber, forming a complete wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant transportation system.
5. Other rubber-lined components: Such as auxiliary impellers, sealing boxes, etc., can be lined according to needs. Rubber lining process and materials: • Base material: Generally carbon steel or cast iron, providing structural support. • Rubber types: Selected based on the medium characteristics, common ones include natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, chloroprene rubber, nitrile rubber, and special synthetic rubber (such as polyurethane, fluororubber). • Bonding process: Using high-temperature vulcanization or cold bonding technology to ensure a firm bond between the rubber and the metal base, and prevent detachment.

Products Features

Outstanding wear resistance and corrosion resistance:
Wear resistance: The elasticity of rubber enables it to deform and rebound when subjected to solid particle impacts. By "using softness to counter hardness", it absorbs impact energy and reduces cutting wear. It is particularly adept at handling fine particles (≤5mm) and medium-low flow rate abrasive conditions.
Corrosion resistance: It has excellent tolerance to chemical media such as acids, alkalis, and salts, far superior to most metal materials. It is especially suitable for corrosive slurries (such as desulfurization slurry, chemical waste).
Excellent impact resistance and noise reduction performance:
The high elasticity of rubber can effectively buffer the impact of solid particles in the slurry, reducing operating noise and vibration, protecting the pump body structure, and extending the overall equipment lifespan.
Light weight and easy installation and maintenance:
Compared to full-metal high-chrome alloy parts, the rubber-lined components are lighter in weight, making them easier to install and dismantle. As replaceable linings, when the rubber layer wears out, only the lining needs to be replaced, while the metal base can be reused, resulting in low maintenance costs.

Application scenario

Electric power industry
Flue gas desulfurization (FGD) system: Transporting limestone/gypsum slurry (pH value 2-6).
Hydraulic ash removal: Transporting fly ash slurry.
Butyl rubber, chloroprene rubber. Advantages: Excellent resistance to acid and chloride ion corrosion, good wear resistance, and standard configuration for desulfurization pumps.
Chemical and environmental protection
Transporting various acidic/alkaline chemical waste liquids, sludge from wastewater treatment, and industrial slurries containing corrosive components.
Fluorine rubber, chloroprene rubber, nitrile rubber. Advantages: Can select the most corrosion-resistant rubber formula based on specific chemical media.
Coal washing and selection
Transporting coal slurry from coal washing plants, heavy medium suspension, and flotation concentrate slurry. The medium contains coal particles, gangue, and possible water treatment agents.
Natural rubber, wear-resistant synthetic rubber. Advantages: Excellent wear resistance, can effectively deal with coal particle wear, and resistant to certain corrosion.
Metallurgical and mining
Transporting fine particle tailings slurry, concentrate slurry (fine particles, medium hardness) from the beneficiation process.
High wear-resistant natural rubber or polyurethane. Advantages: Good protection against fine particle abrasion, high cost-effectiveness.

Selection and Maintenance

Selection Core: The primary basis for choosing rubber-lined accessories is the chemical properties (pH value, chemical composition) and physical properties (particle size, hardness, shape, concentration) of the slurry. It is essential to ensure that the selected rubber material is compatible with the medium.
Limitations: It is not suitable for transporting sharp, high-hardness (such as quartz sand, steel slag) or high-temperature (the upper temperature limit of rubber is usually 80-100°C) slurry. Such conditions are more suitable for high-chromium alloys.
Installation and Inspection: During installation, ensure that the rubber lining is undamaged, free from bubbles, and firmly bonded to the metal substrate. Regularly inspect the thickness of the rubber lining, especially in areas prone to wear such as elbows and impeller blades, and plan for timely replacement.
