Working principle
The core of the flood prevention mobile pump truck is "self-priming + high flow rate + continuous operation". The overall power chain is roughly as follows:
Power end: Diesel engine (mainstream, as there is often no mains electricity on site) or dual diesel-electric (diesel engine + generator, which can switch to mains power). The power of the diesel engine is selected based on the pump shaft power × safety factor (usually 1.1–1.3) × self-priming heavy-load coefficient to ensure no engine stalling under full head and full flow.
Pump end (self-priming is key): Since the flood prevention site cannot provide you with the conditions for "pump filling and exhaust + bottom valve", most pump trucks are equipped with self-priming pumps - there are three common types:
Self-priming centrifugal (with self-priming cylinder/auxiliary impeller/gas-liquid separation chamber): Simple structure, easy maintenance, suitable for clear water/lightly turbid water

Water intake and drainage: The inlet pipe uses quick couplings and flexible hoses to reach the waterlogged area (or directly extend into the river/latrine pit opening), and the outlet pipe also uses quick couplings to lead to the drainage point (river/main trunk pipe/high ground discharge point). The self-priming pump first uses the first filling water/vacuum assistance to make the inlet pipe negative pressure, and after water enters the pump, it can operate continuously, and after stopping, the pump body retains some residual water, making it start up faster next time.

Pipeline system: The inlet/outlet pipes are mostly fire hose type quick hoses (DN100–DN300 grades) equipped with aluminum alloy quick couplings, one roll of 20–30 m, suitable for one person to lay; The end of the inlet pipe is equipped with a water filter basket/grating head to prevent large debris from entering the pump.
Rainproof and control: The electrical control cabinet has IP54–IP65 protection, is locked, and has an internal heater (optional in the north); The control panel has an emergency stop button, operation/fault indicator lights, and a liquid level automatic control knob.
Application scenario
Urban flood emergency drainage: After heavy rain, water accumulates on main roads, low-lying areas, underpass tunnels, and entrances of underground garages. Pump trucks are sent to the scene and directly pump the water out, which is then discharged into nearby rivers, rainwater networks, or higher ground.
